Environmental and Safety Policies

Atlas Energy is an environmentally responsible company subject to comprehensive and stringent federal, state and local laws and regulations governing where and how we install wells, how waste is handled from our operations, and the discharge of materials into the environment. We also have in place high safety standards for all aspects of our operations to ensure the safety of our employees and the environment. Further, we have in effect a company-wide emergency plan to ensure adequate preparedness for rapid and appropriate response to protect our employees and the environment everywhere we work and drill.

We install extensive pollution control equipment, follow all requirements for our industry, and reclaim the used land by bringing it back as close to its original condition as possible. Atlas Energy is especially concerned and conscientious about giving back to the communities where we drill and we have supported many local charities and philanthropic organizations. From youth baseball fields and hiking and biking trails, to organizations including the YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, and the Boy Scouts of America to name a few, Atlas Energy frequently makes charitable contributions in the communities where we operate.
